Peter Zoller is a prominent theorists in quantum optics, quantum information science and theory of quantum gases. Professor of physics at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and scientific director at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, he is best known for his pioneering research on quantum computing and quantum communication, and for bridging quantum optics and solid-state physics.
Sir Peter Knight
Sir Peter Knight is Senior Research Investigator in Physics at Imperial College London; Senior Fellow in Residence at the Kavli Royal Society International Centre, Chicheley Hall and a member of the UK Quantum Technology Initiative Strategy Advisory Board. Sir Peter chairs the Quantum Metrology Institute at the National Physical Laboratory. He was knighted in 2005 for his work in optical physics.
Professor Rainer Blatt
Professor Rainer Blatt has held the position of Scientific Director at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of the Austrian Academy of Sciences since 2003. He has carried out trail-blazing experiments in the fields of precision spectroscopy, quantum optics, quantum metrology and quantum information processing. In 2015 Professor Blatt won the John Stewart Bell prize for his pioneering research on quantum information processing with trapped ions.
