Los Alamos National Lab’s 5th Grid Science Winter School and Conference

This biennial event brings together expertise from physics, applied math, statistics, control theory, optimization theory, machine learning, computer science, and power systems engineering to address the theoretical and algorithmic needs of today‘s grid and the future grid. The goal of the Grid Science Winter School and Conference is to promote the exchange of ideas and methods across these diverse disciplines, not only at the senior researcher level, but crucially at the graduate student level where new collaborative relationships will pay long-term dividends. Our VP of Quantum Software, Pranav Gokhale will speak on some of our groundbreaking work at the intersection of QC and Energy systems, more specifically on solving Unit Commitment problems with QAOA.
